Racing Bike: Ducati Desmo 450 SM revealed from supermoto, know how powerful is the engine and performance

Racing Bike: Italian premium bike manufacturer Ducati has introduced the pre-production model of the upcoming Desmo450 SM Supermoto at the World Ducati Week. This bike is part of the company’s 100th anniversary celebrations. At present, the company has only shown its first glimpse, while its complete specifications and other information will be shared in September 2026.

Supermoto bike designed for racing
The new Desmo450 SM has been developed specifically for supermoto racing. It is based on Ducati’s Desmo450 MX Motocross bike, but with several changes to the braking system, suspension, engine setup and bodywork to suit supermoto racing.

449.6cc engine will provide strong performance
The bike has a 449.6cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which generates power of 62.6bhp and torque of 53.5Nm. This is the same engine which is also used in the Desmo450 MX.

Recorded victory in the very first race
According to Ducati, prototypes of the Desmo450 SM have already been used in racing. It was driven on the race track by five-time Supermoto World Champion Marc-Reiner Schmidt and the bike won its first competitive race.

Will be equipped with top-class hardware
The new Desmo450 SM will have manually adjustable Showa suspension, high-performance braking system and supermoto style design. It has been designed entirely with track and racing use in mind.

Less likely to be launched in India
The Ducati Desmo450 SM is a niche model designed solely for racing. In such a situation, considering its limited utility, there is a possibility that the company will not launch it in the Indian market.
