BJP MP Raghav Chadha spoke to the opposition in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of the NEET paper leak. He also explained why he had remained silent on the issue for so long. MP Raghav Chadha said, “Earlier, when I was in the opposition, my job was to ask questions, and I did that honestly. Now I’m on the ruling bench, so my role has changed. My responsibility now is not just to ask questions, but also to find solutions.”
In the House, Raghav Chadha expressed his grief over the problems faced by students due to the paper leak. He said, “I was a CA student for some time and I understand the problems faced by students. I promised myself that I would speak on this issue in Parliament only when a solution was found and the system was reformed. Today is a historic day when the system has improved. Paper leak is a disease that needs a permanent cure. If it couldn’t be cured through media bites, then an institutional solution should have been found, which our government has brought today through the Examination Reform Bill,” he said.
At the same time, I understand the students’ anger. Their complaints about exams are valid. Your opinion is important. When you expressed your concerns and pain, the Prime Minister listened to them not as a Prime Minister but as a parent. The government took action on the students’ demands. Today, historic decisions have been taken. The system is changing. When a student prepares for an exam, they don’t do it alone. Their entire family prepares. Students study for 18 hours a day. They study until 2 a.m. They then wake up at 5 a.m. They distance themselves from social life. When the exam they are preparing for is leaked, all their hard work, faith, and dreams are lost. They have to endure mental anguish,” MP Raghav Chadha expressed the students’ pain in the House.
Meanwhile, I understand the pain of students. I myself have been a student of the examination system in India. I have frequently criticized the government on this issue in this House. Raghav Chadha said that when the issues of the country’s students and youth were raised, the government listened to them. The government took action on them and has also taken satisfactory steps.
