Sonam Wangchuk On Student Protest: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk recently sat on a hunger strike against the government over the NEET paper leak issue. Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike after receiving assurances from the government that action would be taken. Now, he has made a significant statement regarding the student protests and the end of the hunger strike.
Sonam Wangchuk recently spoke to the media, saying that he wanted Rahul Gandhi to end his fast, but he received no positive response from the Congress leader. Wangchuk also alleged that Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh broke their promises to him. Consequently, he has lost faith in political leaders.
…wanted the fast to be ended by Rahul Gandhi
Speaking to the media, Sonam Wangchuk said, “We wanted Rahul Gandhi to break my fast by offering me juice. My wife, Geetanjali, worked very hard on this.” She has been trying to contact Rahul Gandhi repeatedly, but has received no positive response.
He stated that his wife’s comments about Rahul Gandhi were due to disappointment. Wangchuk alleged that very few leaders attended Jantar Mantar, and even those arrived late. This disappointed his wife and led her to comment on Rahul Gandhi.
BJP leaders broke promises
Sonam Wangchuk accused Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh of breaking promises. She said, “BJP leaders had promised me that they would not release photos of me ending my fast and feeding me soup until a formal announcement was made. But they broke their promise. Now I have lost faith in all leaders.”
The CJP’s movement was for the right purpose
Wangchuk praised the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). He said that the CJP’s movement at Jantar Mantar was about the right issues. He said, “I have seen the cockroach Janata Party closely. The people in the CJP are impartial and work for the right cause. They are not affiliated with any party.”
