Rahul Gandhi targeted the Center regarding the attack on Indian sailors, said – why is the government silent?

Knews Desk- Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government regarding the increasing tension in West Asia and the recent developments related to Indian sailors. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the government’s silence on a serious issue related to the security of Indian citizens is a matter of concern.

Rahul Gandhi said that when the lives of Indian sailors are in danger and there have been reports of deaths of some Indian citizens, then the central government should take a clear and strong stand. Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the country wants to know what is the government’s reaction on this entire matter.

In fact, in recent times, many merchant ships with Indian crew have come under attack off the Oman coast and in the Gulf region. Three Indian sailors have been confirmed dead in one of the attacks, while the other sailors were evacuated safely. After this incident, the Indian government lodged a strong protest with the US and expressed concern over the security of Indian maritime interests in the region.

The Ministry of External Affairs has clearly stated that attacks on ships with Indian crew should stop and efforts should be made towards peace and diplomatic solution in the region. The government has also directed concerned agencies to remain on high alert to ensure the safety of Indian seafarers and maritime assets.

Rahul Gandhi said that the security of Indian citizens is the primary responsibility of any government. He demanded that the government should clarify its stand on the entire incident in front of the Parliament and the country and all possible assistance should be provided to the affected families.

Political rhetoric regarding this issue has intensified. On one hand, the opposition is demanding answers from the government, while the central government says that it is constantly monitoring the situation and is taking necessary steps for the safety of Indian citizens.
