Patna. Monsoon has once again gained momentum in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 26 districts of the state on Sunday. Of these, there is orange alert for 11 districts and yellow alert for 15 districts. Along with rain, there is also a possibility of strong wind and lightning.
Orange alert in these 11 districts
There is a possibility of heavy rain in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal and Aurangabad.
Yellow alert in 15 districts
Light to moderate rain may occur in Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Samastipur, Patna, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Begusarai, Sheikhpura and Lakhisarai. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds can blow up to 40 kilometers per hour in many areas and there will be a danger of landslides. People have been advised to stay away from open grounds, trees and electric poles during bad weather.
Such weather may last till September 2
Rainfall is likely to continue at many places in the state till September 2. Rain may bring down some temperature, although humidity may bother people. In the last 24 hours, Mohra and Atri of Gaya recorded the highest rainfall of 138.4 mm. At the same time, despite heavy rains in some districts, the total monsoon rainfall in Bihar still remains about 41 percent less than normal.
