Rain Alert: Amid changing weather patterns across the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new warning. According to the Meteorological Department, several regions of Maharashtra may experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and light to moderate rainfall until April 22. Amidst the severe heat prevailing in North India, heatwave alerts have been issued for several states. The Meteorological Department has indicated that a heatwave alert is in effect for parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh on April 19 and 20.

According to the department, heatwave alerts have been issued for East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and East Madhya Pradesh from April 19 to 23; for Jharkhand on April 20 and 21; for West Uttar Pradesh from April 20 to 22; and for West Rajasthan from April 20 to 23. The Meteorological Department has also issued rain warnings for several states across the country.

Rain Warnings for These North Indian States
Warnings for light to moderate rainfall have been issued for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on April 19 and 20. During this period, there is also a possibility of lightning and strong winds.
Additionally, an alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi for April 19, anticipating light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. An alert regarding lightning has also been issued for West Rajasthan for April 19.
Rain Warnings for South India
Alerts have been issued for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on April 19, and for Telangana and Karnataka from April 19 to 23, anticipating light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Furthermore, there is a possibility of lightning strikes in Rayalaseema from April 20 to 22; in Kerala and Mahe from April 20 to 23; and in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on April 22 and 23.
Heatwave alerts have been issued for several states across Eastern and Central India. Heatwave conditions are expected to persist between April 18 and 22 in parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha. Meanwhile, warnings regarding intense heat have also been issued for certain parts of Rajasthan. The impact of rainfall is likely to be observed in Northeast India and the hilly states. Furthermore, heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Sikkim.
