Rajasthan News: Ten-day event organized at Bikaner House, New Delhi 'Teejotsav-2026' Along with the folk culture and traditional food of Rajasthan, the rich painting of the state is also attracting people. In this event, which will run till August 24, artists from different regions of Rajasthan have been given a platform to showcase and sell their traditional artefacts.
Demonstration of Bani-Thani and Pichwai painting
Chief Residential Commissioner Rohit Kumar told that in the festival of Teejotsav, hand-crafted by artists. Bani-Thani, Pichwai and other traditional styles Paintings are being displayed. A glimpse of the art and cultural heritage of Rajasthan can be seen in these artworks prepared with natural colors and traditional techniques.

He told that making such artefacts requires a lot of time, patience and concentration. In the era of modern technology, it is challenging to connect the new generation with this traditional art. In such a situation, events like Teejotsav give artists an opportunity to present their art to a larger audience.
Omkar Lal is enhancing Pichwai art as the third generation.
came from Udaipur Omkar Lal Meghwal They are also displaying their artefacts in Teejotsav for the third consecutive year. He comes from the Bhil tribal community and is carrying forward the tradition of Pichwai painting as the third generation of his family.
Omkar Lal is associated with 'Maa Chamunda Self Help Group'. Through this group, people from different tribal areas of Rajasthan are working to preserve traditional painting. He expressed hope that artists and self-help groups will get such platforms and encouragement in future also.
Mathematical race organized for children
For children on Friday during Teej Utsav 'Mathematical Race' Competition was also organized. Children participated in it with enthusiasm. In the evening, cultural programs based on the folk culture of Rajasthan were organized.
The program was accompanied by playing of algoza, sarangi, bhapang, mashak and khartal. Chari and Ghoomar dance Presentations took place. Folk artistes presented the traditional music and dance styles of Rajasthan to the audience.
Many dignitaries visited Teejotsav
National Green Tribunal Justice Arun Kumar Tyagiprofessor A. Senthil Well And professors from Indraprastha College, Delhi University visited the fair along with about 40 students. Secretary, Union Ministry of Environment and Forests Tanmay Kumar Also encouraged the artists and artisans.
Through Teejotsav-2026, efforts are being made to provide market and recognition to the traditional art of Rajasthan and connect the new generation with the rich cultural heritage of the state.
