Very few people know that Rajesh Khanna had kept the information about his cancer disease hidden from the fans till the last moment. Information about cancer kept hidden from fans
It is claimed in media reports that Rajesh Khanna came to know that he had cancer in 2011, a year before his death. But he did not want this sad news to reach his fans. He had clearly told his family and close ones that his illness should not be made public. He wanted so much that people should always remember him in the same smiling and lively manner. It is said that in the next year of the disease i.e. in June 2012, his health started deteriorating continuously. After which he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. After treatment, there was some improvement in his health and he was discharged from the hospital on July 8.
Rajesh Khanna wanted to spend his last time at home
After being discharged from the hospital, a few days later on July 14, Rajesh Khanna’s health deteriorated again and he was again admitted to Lilavati Hospital. This time he realized that he did not have much time left. He expressed his wish to the family that he wants to take his last breath not in the hospital but in his home ‘Aashirvaad’. Respecting his last wish, he was discharged from the hospital on 16 July. Two days later, on 18 July 2012, he breathed his last in his bungalow ‘Aashirvad’. Let us tell you that it was only after his death that the fans came to know that he had died of cancer.

According to media reports, many personalities from Bollywood, politics and politics had paid tribute on his death. During this time, Amitabh Bachchan also reached his bungalow. It is said that Amitabh Bachchan was sitting on a sofa kept inside the house. Then a close friend of Rajesh Khanna came to him and told in a hoarse voice that Kaka’s last words were, ‘It’s time, pack up.’ Hearing his last words, everyone present there became emotional. These last words of his still bring tears to the eyes of his fans.
More than 10 lakh people participated in the last journey
When the news of Rajesh Khanna’s demise came, it was the most sad news for his fans in the country and the world. As soon as the news of his demise spread, crores of people paid tribute to him. At the same time, there was a crowd of fans outside his bungalow in Mumbai. It is said that more than 10 lakh people participated in his last journey. This is considered to be one of the biggest last journeys of a Bollywood star. On this occasion everyone had come to pay tribute to him.
