Is Rajinikanth jealous of CM Vijay, the superstar replied

Tamil film industry’s veteran superstar Rajinikanth called a special press conference on Sunday morning at his Poes Garden home in Chennai. This press conference took place after the results of Tamil Nadu assembly elections were announced. Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party leader and superstar Joseph Vijay had won a big victory in the elections. Rajinikanth was silent for a few days, due to which various kinds of rumors started spreading among the people. Some people were saying that Rajinikanth was angry with the election results, while some believed that he was trying to merge two parties.

To dispel all these rumors and misunderstandings, Rajinikanth himself held a press conference and told everything openly. Rajinikanth said, ‘I had to hold this press conference because a lot of wrong news and rumors were spreading about me. If I had not answered these, people would have accepted them as true. He further told that after the election results came, he had gone to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. There was a lot of criticism regarding this meeting, but Rajinikanth made it clear that his and Stalin’s friendship was above politics. Rajinikanth said, ‘I was very sad when I came to know that MK Stalin has lost from Kulathur seat. Our friendship is old and is not limited to politics only.

Cleared confusion on congratulating Vijay

A big allegation against Rajinikanth was that he did not congratulate Vijay on his victory. Rumors also spread among the people that Rajinikanth wanted to stop Vijay from becoming the Chief Minister or was trying to get the two parties merged. Rajinikanth completely rejected these allegations and said, ‘I had congratulated Vijay on his victory on the X handle. I never said that Vijay should not become the Chief Minister. I am not in politics, so why would I be jealous of Vijay? Perhaps there might be a little jealousy over Kamal Haasan becoming the Chief Minister (smiling). He also told about the age difference between Vijay and himself. Rajinikanth said smilingly, ‘There is a generation gap of about 28 years between Vijay and me. If we talk about competition between us, it will not look good.

Praising Vijay, Rajinikanth said, ‘I am proud of Vijay’s success. At the age of just 52, he has achieved more than celebrities like MGR and NTR. He contested the elections against BJP at the Center and two other parties here and won with a huge vote. This was a very surprising and pleasant experience for me. I am not jealous of him at all. I have high hopes from Vijay and wish him a bright future.

Rajinikanth also expressed his displeasure over the film leak

Rajinikanth had also expressed his displeasure over Vijay’s last film ‘Jana Nayakan’ being leaked online. On April 10, he had tweeted that the criminals who leaked the film should be given strict punishment. After the election results came out, on May 4, Rajinikanth officially congratulated Vijay and his party TVK.

Gave the answer even after not attending the swearing in ceremony

Many people had also raised the question that when Vijay was becoming the Chief Minister and the swearing-in ceremony was taking place, why did Rajinikanth not go there? On this, Rajinikanth said, ‘Till date I have not participated in the swearing-in ceremony of any Chief Minister. Have you ever seen me at the swearing-in ceremony of any former Chief Minister? In this press conference, Rajinikanth cleared all the rumours. He spoke openly on issues like friendship, politics, jealousy and expectations. His frankness has brought a lot of relief to his fans. This press conference of Rajinikanth remains a topic of discussion in both the politics and cinema world of Tamil Nadu.
