In this connection, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reached Kolkata. During the press conference here, he enumerated the achievements of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that to understand Modi, it is necessary to understand India.
Rajnath Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday is on 17 September. 20 days later, on October 7, he will complete 25 years in public life. He said that the Modi government has changed the thinking of 'more regulation and less governance' and has emphasized on the system of 'right regulation and good governance'. The Defense Minister called this 'Modinomics'.
Rajnath Singh's statement regarding UPI
In the press conference, Rajnath Singh also mentioned the digital payment system UPI. He said that initially there was opposition to UPI, but today transactions are being done on a large scale through it. According to him, 23.66 billion transactions have taken place through UPI.
He said that UPI has also changed the way of earning and working of street vendors selling goods on the roadside. Rajnath Singh also mentioned the praise of UPI by the President of France.
Citing the example of technological development in India, the Defense Minister said that a startup has developed the country's first 3D printed cryogenic rocket engine. He called it a big achievement.
Claim of increase in defense exports
Rajnath Singh said that India's defense products are now reaching about 100 countries of the world. He claimed that defense sector exports have increased by 56 percent and this figure has reached Rs 1.08 lakh crore.
He also said that the number of startups in the country has increased from around 500 in 2014 to around 2 lakh now. Referring to the government's schemes, Rajnath Singh said that work has been done like bringing 25 crore people out of poverty, building 12 crore toilets and providing houses to 4 crore people.
Rajnath Singh said that the number of women's bank accounts has increased and money from government schemes is being sent directly to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). He claimed that the government has stopped leakage of more than Rs 3 lakh crore, which earlier used to go wrongly through middlemen.
The Defense Minister said that Gujarat was a state where electricity access was ensured to every area before other parts of the country. He presented various schemes and administrative changes of the Central Government as achievements of the Modi government.
Talk of building ship-building hub in West Bengal
Rajnath Singh said that India is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Modi government. Referring to the development of West Bengal, he said that in the coming times the state can become the world's largest ship-building hub.
He said that on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi's birthday, NDA allies have pledged to work for India's development and public service for a year. Under this, 12 major programs have been decided.
Seva Sankalp campaign will run for one month
The 'Seva Sankalp Campaign' will start from September 17 and is planned to run till October 17. During the campaign, programs related to blood donation camps, cleanliness campaigns, medical camps, plantation, digital literacy and public welfare schemes will be organized.
Rajnath Singh said that there will be lamp lighting programs on the Prime Minister's birthday. Appealing to the people to give time for public service, he said that those who give even 25 minutes for the country and society will get the opportunity to serve.
According to Rajnath Singh, the objective of this campaign is to increase public participation and make the government schemes reach the people. At the same time, the administrative journey of Prime Minister Modi for 25 years will also be presented to the public through this campaign.
