Satish Mahana on Ram Mandir Donation Theft: A statement by Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana has come into controversy regarding the case of alleged irregularities in counting the donation amount in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple of Ayodhya. The video of his statement is becoming increasingly viral on social media, which is drawing sharp reactions at the political and social level.
What did Satish Mahana say?
In the viral video, Satish Mahana is heard saying, ‘Those whose money was stolen, I think perhaps they might not have offered it in the temple of God with true devotion, hence their money was stolen. Our money was not stolen, our money is invested in the temple.” Many people have criticized his statement on social media and a debate has erupted regarding it.
Digvijay Singh asked for return of donation amount
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh has claimed that he had contributed Rs 1.11 lakh for the construction of Ram Temple. After the case of alleged donation counting irregularities came to light, he has sent a notice demanding the return of his donation amount. He has also announced to take out a padyatra from Ujjain to Ayodhya from October 2.
Mahana said- I will return the money from my own pocket
Responding to Digvijay Singh’s demand, Satish Mahana said, “If he has given any donation and he wants it back, then being a Ram devotee, I am ready to return his money from my own pocket.” He said that crores of devotees had devoted themselves to the Ram temple and due to that contribution, the grand appearance of the temple is visible today.
Not donation, surrender at the feet of God
Mahana said that the amount given for Ram temple should not be considered as donation but as dedication at the feet of God. According to him, ‘Crores of Ram devotees’ money is being invested in the construction of the temple. I am also among those devotees who contributed with their devotion and I am sure that the money is being used in the construction of the temple.”
Digvijay Singh also targeted
Satish Mahana said that if Digvijay Singh wants his money back then he should not worry about the contribution given for Ram temple. He also said that it would have been more appropriate if he had undertaken a padyatra in support of the construction of the temple during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
