New Delhi: The makers of Ramayana have unveiled the first look poster of actor Yash as Ravana, offering audiences a glimpse of his appearance in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic.
The poster, released on Instagram on Saturday and later reshared by Yash, presents the actor in an elaborate royal avatar. Yash is seen wearing a glittering golden crown embellished with gems, along with layered pearl necklaces and gold bracelets.
The poster was captioned simply, “Ravana.”
Yash takes on the role of Ravana
Yash’s casting as Ravana has been among the most closely watched aspects of Ramayana. The newly unveiled poster gives the first official look at his portrayal of the powerful character from the epic.
The actor’s look features an ornate golden crown and traditional jewellery, reflecting the grandeur being envisioned for the film. The makers have kept the visual centred on Yash’s character, with the poster highlighting his imposing royal appearance.
Ramayana is being mounted as a large-scale cinematic adaptation, bringing together a prominent cast and an international creative team.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi lead the cast
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, while Vivek Oberoi essays the role of Vidyutjihva.
The casting has generated considerable interest, particularly with actors portraying some of the most recognised characters from the Ramayana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s DNEG and Prime Focus Studios. The project is being positioned as a global-scale adaptation of the Indian epic.
Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard attached to music
Adding to the international scale of the project, Oscar-winning filmmaker and composer Hans Zimmer and Grammy-winning composer James Newton Howard are attached to the music of Ramayana.
Their involvement brings an international dimension to the film’s musical and cinematic presentation, which is being developed alongside the project’s ambitious visual scale.
The film is planned for release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, allowing it to reach audiences across multiple Indian language markets.
