‘Ramayana’ trailer out: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash bring the epic to life

The makers of Ramayana have unveiled a new trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of the Indian epic, offering a closer look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has also shared the trailer on social media, praising the team’s effort to bring the story to the big screen.

Taking to X, Rajamouli wrote, “#Ramayana is a story every Indian storyteller grows up aspiring to tell. It’s a joy to see @niteshtiwari22 and @malhotra_namit bring it to the screen on such a grand scale. Each actor brings these timeless characters to life with depth.”

He added, “Looking forward to 5th November. Best wishes to the entire team.”

The 2-minute-and-36-second trailer features fresh footage of Rama and Ravana, setting up the conflict at the heart of the epic. It opens with a voiceover describing a time when the world existed in harmony: “Before history was written… men walked among gods… and the world existed in perfect order.”

The narration then introduces Ravana’s rise as a threat to that peace, saying, “But from the darkness rose an evil force… Ravana. Born from fire and fury, he bent the gods to his will and made the world his throne.” The trailer also offers a glimpse of Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra.

The two-part cinematic adaptation stars Sai Pallavi as Sita alongside Ranbir and Yash. The first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, with the second part planned for Diwali 2027. The films are intended to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
