Ramya breaks down as Bengaluru street dogs go missing
Kannada actor and former MP Ramya became emotional during a protest in Bengaluru over the disappearance of several street dogs from Kaggadasapura.
The protest was held at Freedom Park, where animal welfare activists, residents and volunteers gathered demanding justice for community dogs allegedly captured and removed from a DRDO campus in the area.
Missing dogs spark outrage
According to activists, residents earlier intercepted a truck inside the campus and allegedly found three dogs with their legs and mouths tied, placed inside sacks and plastic bags. While those animals were rescued, campaigners claimed more than 20 dogs that lived in the campus area were later found missing.
The matter has reportedly led to a police complaint and legal proceedings.
Ramya gets emotional
Addressing the gathering, Ramya said the visuals of cruelty deeply disturbed her. She reportedly questioned how anyone could treat helpless animals in such a manner and demanded accountability.
Witnesses said the actor broke down while speaking about the missing dogs and urged authorities to reveal whether the animals were safe.
Calls for strict action
Animal rights groups demanded stronger enforcement of animal welfare laws and scientific solutions to human-animal conflict in Bengaluru.
