Ranchi. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken a big decision on Monday amidst the ongoing student agitation regarding recruitment examinations in Jharkhand. The state government has announced the cancellation of JSSC-CGL exam. Along with this, the government has said that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted into the alleged irregularities, small and big, that have taken place in the recruitment examinations since 2014.
The Chief Minister said that all the examinations conducted through TDPL will also be cancelled. Its scope will also include examinations conducted, results declared, selected and appointed candidates along with other activities related to TDPL.
Government's big announcement amid student movement
Students have been agitating for a long time in various parts of the state including Ranchi over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The demand for cancellation of JSSC-CGL examination was also one of the major demands of the agitators. After the government's decision, an atmosphere of happiness was seen among the protesting students.
The irregularities from 2014 till now will be investigated
Hemant Soren said that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted into the small and big irregularities that have taken place in the recruitment examinations from 2014 till now. Along with this, necessary procedures will also be prepared to improve the examination system. Indications have also been given to form a committee to make the examination system transparent and better.
TDPL's exams, results and appointments also under scope
The government's decision will have a wide impact on the examinations conducted through TDPL. According to the Chief Minister, not only the examinations, but their results, selected or appointed candidates and other activities related to TDPL will also be under the ambit of the decision.
Hints for special session on MMDR Act
Chief Minister Hemant Soren also talked about calling a meeting soon to discuss the changes made in the MMDR Act by the Central Government. He indicated that if needed, a special session of the Assembly can also be called to discuss this issue.
