Mumbai made a great start to their campaign by defeating Chandigarh by an innings and 155 runs in the Elite Group D match. Mumbai won within three days and also got the bonus point. In this match played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai bowlers also performed brilliantly in the second innings of Chandigarh. Like UP and Mumbai, Hyderabad also won by innings difference. On the third day of the Elite Group-B match, Hyderabad won the bonus point by defeating Tripura by an innings and 40 runs. Fast bowlers Tanya Thiagarajan and Mohammed Siraj together took 8 wickets, due to which Hyderabad bowled out Tripura for 120 runs in the second innings. Thiagarajan took 6 wickets for 52 runs. Siraj took 2 wickets for 19 runs in 9 overs. Tripura had scored 134 runs in the first innings, in response to which Hyderabad had taken a big lead by scoring 294 runs.
