Schedule of cricket matches disturbed due to shooting in Azad Maidan
According to media reports, the Sports Department of Maharashtra Government had given permission to the team of the film 'Pralaya' to shoot for about six hours at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. The controversy started after this decision. It is being told that due to the shooting, the schedule of Under-14 and Under-16 inter-school cricket matches being held at the ground was affected. Some already scheduled matches also had to be postponed.
Azad Maidan is one of the major cricket grounds in Mumbai, where young players regularly practice and take part in tournaments. In such a situation, people associated with cricket have expressed objection to the decision of giving grounds for shooting.
MCA wrote a letter to the sports department
In this matter, Mumbai Cricket Association has conveyed its displeasure to the Sports Department. According to the report, MCA has raised questions on this decision by writing a letter to the Deputy Director of the Sports Department. The association says the ground should be used for cricket activities as many young players start their careers here.
MCA Apex Council member Nadeem Memon also spoke on the matter. He told that huge sets were set up in the field for shooting and even grass was spread. He says that Azad Maidan is not a film studio, but a cricket ground, where children and young players dream of moving forward by playing.
Many conditions were placed with the permission for shooting.
The report also states that many conditions were imposed while allowing the film's production team to shoot. Makers were not allowed to bring carts on the cricket pitch, cook food, dig or do any activity that could damage the ground.
Apart from this, it was also necessary to take necessary approvals from police, traffic department and BMC for shooting. Also included was the condition of obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Mumbai Cricket Association.
