New Delhi, Read: Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Ravneet Singh has resigned from the Union Cabinet, the President has accepted his resignation. According to the information received, the Rajya Sabha tenure of Ravneet Singh Bittu had ended on June 21.
According to Rashtrapati Bhavan, “On the advice of the Prime Minister, the President has accepted the resignation of Ravneet Singh Bittu from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect.” There is speculation that the Bharatiya Janata Party may give him a big responsibility in the assembly elections to be held in Punjab early next year. He is the grandson of former state Chief Minister Beant Singh who was assassinated by terrorists.
