Kia India has achieved another major milestone in the Indian car market. In September 2026, the company sold as many as 32,017 vehicles. This is Kia’s highest ever monthly sales since its entry into India. In September last year, the company had sold 22,700 units. So this year the sales have increased by 41%.
Sales also increased compared to August
Another highlight of Kia’s stellar performance is that the company’s sales in September increased not only on a year-on-year basis, but also on a month-on-month basis. Kia sold 29,042 units in August 2026. Compared to that, a growth of 10.2% was recorded in September. That means the company sold almost 3,000 more vehicles in one month.

Seltos and Sonnets became important models
Seltos and Sonets account for a large share of Kia’s overall sales. Average monthly sales of Seltos have been above 10,000 units since its launch in January. On the other hand, the Sonet has been consistently performing well in the sub-compact SUV segment. Both these SUVs are giving Kia strong volume in the Indian market.
9 in months 2.53 Selling over lakhs of vehicles
Kia sold 89,259 units during Q3 from July to September 2026. 64,443 units were sold during the same period last year. Also, the company’s total sales between January and September 2026 have reached 2,53,008 units, an increase of 22.5% compared to last year’s 2,06,582 units.

CNG, EV And focus on hybrid too
Kia is constantly adding new options to its model lineup. Along with Carens, Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV, Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG are now also available. The Syros EV is also gaining demand. Kia is expanding its portfolio with different powertrains like petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric.
Premium due to Sorento SUV Expansion into segments
The company said that the recently launched Sorento is also getting a good response. In India, the SUV comes with diesel and hybrid powertrains. This further strengthens Kia’s presence in the premium SUV segment. September’s sales of 32,017 units has now become a new monthly sales benchmark for the company.
