People who were facing record-breaking heat and suffocating humidity throughout the day, got relief from the strong storm, thunder and heavy rain late at night, but along with it, disaster has also knocked. In view of this sudden change in weather, severe storm and serious threat of lightning, the India Meteorological Department has issued an emergency ‘red alert’ for Delhi-NCR.

The mood will remain bad in these states even today

On Friday also, this pre-monsoon movement will play an active role in many states of North and Central India. There are chances of severe thunderstorms with thunderstorms in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Northern Rajasthan on Friday. Light to moderate rain may be recorded in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Western Himalayan regions (Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand). There will be a drop in temperature

If we look at the data, the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 38.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday, but due to excess moisture and humidity in the air, the actual temperature felt had crossed 44 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists say that due to the movement of clouds in the sky and intermittent rain in the coming two-three days, a drop of 3 to 4 degrees will be recorded in the mercury, which is expected to provide great relief to the people from the scorching heat.

Dust storm and showers continued throughout the night

According to the bulletin of the Meteorological Department, suddenly a thick dark clouds gathered in the sky late on Thursday night and in no time, rain with strong dusty winds was recorded in many areas. Meteorologists predict that this series of intermittent thunderstorms and lightning will continue for the next few hours. The biggest concern is about wind speed. During this time, there is a strong possibility of destructive winds blowing at a speed of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour in the plains and their gusts reaching up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Red alert issued

The Meteorological Department has clarified that ‘Red Alert’ simply means that the current weather condition can pose a major threat to life and property. The department has advised the general public not to leave their homes unnecessarily during bad weather. Especially stay away from weak structures, mud houses, signboards and old trees and completely avoid going to open fields.
