Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, has finally announced the launch date for its highly anticipated Redmi K100 Series. After days of speculation, the company has confirmed that the Redmi K100 Pro Series will be launched in China on August 11th. This time, the company will first introduce the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max. Redmi has also revealed the official design of the K100 Pro Max for the first time.
Redmi K100 Pro Series to Launch on August 11th
Redmi announced through its official Weibo account that the Redmi K100 Pro Series will be launched in China on August 11th. This time, the company will launch the Pro models first, while the standard Redmi K100 will be launched later.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing stated that the Redmi K100 launch has not been cancelled. The company will bring it to users who want a balanced and practical smartphone with flagship performance.
Why is the Pro Series launching first?
According to the company, the prices of memory chips and other smartphone components have been steadily increasing over the past few years. This is why Redmi has decided to change its traditional launch strategy and launch the Pro Series first.
It’s worth noting that last year, the Redmi K90 Series was launched in October, while its Ultra model was introduced later.
Redmi K100 Pro Max Design Revealed
Along with the launch date, Redmi has also shared the first official glimpse of the Redmi K100 Pro Max. The phone is shown in a Cabernet Red color option, featuring a color-matched metal frame. The phone’s rear panel features a new Floating Light Ring design around the camera module, giving it a premium look. The company has also confirmed that the phone will feature a 6.9-inch OLED display. Sound by Bose branding is also visible on the back panel, which is expected to provide a better audio experience.
Launched at ChinaJoy
It was previously expected that the Redmi K100 series would be launched at the ChinaJoy 2026 event on July 31st. However, instead of launching the phones at that time, the company gradually shared information related to the series and has now officially announced the launch date of August 11th.
May enter the global market under these names
According to reports, after launching in China, the Redmi K100 Pro may launch in the global market as the Poco F9 Pro, and the Redmi K100 Pro Max as the Poco F9 Ultra. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed by Xiaomi.
