Under the leadership of AISA District Secretary Santosh Kumar Siota, the workers of All India Students Association burnt the effigies of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari in protest against the lathi charge on teacher candidates and the arrest of student leaders near the Shaheed Rajkishore bus stop located at Triveniganj block headquarters.
Addressing the street meeting after burning the effigy, AISA District Secretary Santosh Kumar Siota said that the lathi charge on teacher candidates and arrest of students is murder of democracy.
Bihar government is continuously working to cheat the teacher candidates, the government has kept the teacher reinstatement on hold for the last 2 years, when the students protest, they are lathicharged and a case is filed against them and they are sent to jail.
Students are already going through a period of unemployment and uncertainty, on one hand the government boasts of giving jobs to the youth and on the other hand the students demanding jobs are being harassed. He has demanded that the notification of the fourth phase of teacher recruitment should be issued immediately, the calendar of teacher recruitment examination should be released and the compulsion of PT and MAINS in the teacher recruitment examination should be abolished.
Student leader Saurabh Yadav said that student leader Dilip Kumar and other arrested teacher candidates should be released, the case against teacher candidates should be withdrawn and the guilty officer should be identified and strict action should be taken.
Dozens of students including AISA District President Ramashish Kumar, District Vice President Abhinav Anand, Rajesh Kumar, E Nitish Chaudhary, Pradeep Sardar, Prabhash Rana, Laltu Kushwaha, Shoaib Alam, Pramod Sardar, Sonu Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Jyoti Kumari, Parvez Alam, Umesh Kumar, Himanshu Kumar, Vishal Das, Saurabh Kumar were present in the demonstration.
