Delhi Protest: Why were the trains cancelled?
Railways had taken precautionary measures in view of the possibility of possible crowd and road jam due to the proposed protest in Delhi on October 10. Passengers were expected to face problems in movement around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations.
Due to this, those mail and express trains leaving from the originating station after 2 pm on October 9, which were to reach New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4 am to 2 pm on October 10, were cancelled.
Passengers keep an eye on these railway stations also
According to the Railways, apart from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin, the plan was to operate trains as per the scheduled timetable at stations like Anand Vihar Terminal, Old Delhi, Sarai Rohilla and Delhi Cantt.
Please check status before traveling by train
Railways has denied plans to cancel the new trains. However, passengers are advised to check their train number, departure time and latest operational status through official railway channels before leaving for the station. With this, unnecessary trouble can be avoided.
