Relief to teachers and pensioners in Bihar, will get salary soon!
Patna: There is relief news for teachers, non-teaching staff and retired pensioners working in the universities of Bihar. Raj Bhavan has taken special initiatives to expedite the payment of long pending salaries, pensions and other retirement benefits. For the first time, on the instructions of the Governor’s Secretariat, special grievance redressal camps will be organized, where efforts will be made to resolve issues related to salary and pension on the spot.
Special camp will be held on 27th and 28th July
As per the instructions of Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chancellor, a special camp will be organized at the Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) headquarters on July 27 and 28. The objective of this camp is to expeditiously resolve the pending complaints of teachers and employees.
Instructions to complete payment by 20th July
Raj Bhavan has directed the university administration to ensure that the approval of current and outstanding salaries and pension and other service benefits of retired employees up to June 30, 2026, should be ensured by July 20 in any case. It has been told that despite the budget being available, there were continuous complaints of delay in payment, after which this step has been taken.
Many options for filing complaint
The Registrar, Financial Advisor and Finance Officer of the University themselves will be present during the special camp. If a teacher, employee or pensioner cannot be present in person, he can also lodge his complaint through e-mail, post or through his authorized representative.
Target of settlement by 14th August
Raj Bhavan has given clear instructions that all the complaints received through camps and other means should be resolved by August 14. After this, the report of the complete action will have to be sent to Raj Bhavan by 21st August, so that the pending cases can be reviewed.
Action on pending cases also
In many cases, payment is stuck due to pending pay verification. In view of this, the concerned officials have been instructed to complete all the pending verification work by running a special campaign by July 20. With this, many matters related to salary determination and pension are expected to be resolved soon.

Hundreds of cases related to salaries, pensions and retirement benefits in universities are pending for a long time. Many teachers and pensioners are continuously visiting the university and departmental offices for their legitimate payments. In some cases, the matter has reached the court regarding discrepancies in salary determination, where the court has also given instructions to make payment along with interest.
