emotion above politics

Addressing the House, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that matters of religious sentiments should not fall prey to narrow political considerations. He said, "People's spiritual wishes should be respected. When it comes to religious sentiments, there should be no room for narrow politics. Sri Kartarpur Sahib Langha should be reopened so that the Sangat can fulfill their spiritual desires without any hindrance."

resolution passed in assembly

Keeping in mind the message of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji of 'Sarbat de Bhale' (good for all), the Punjab Legislative Assembly passed the resolution moved by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. In this proposal, an appeal was made to the Central Government to reopen the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and keep it continuously open. The resolution emphasizes that this corridor is not just a diplomatic route between India and Pakistan, but a matter of religious freedom and humanitarian partnership for millions of Sikhs.

demand from central government

The resolution demands that the Central Government take immediate steps to reopen and keep the corridor operational, simplify the pilgrimage procedures and engage with the Government of Pakistan to ensure safe, smooth and unhindered access of the Sangat to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan.

feelings hurt by restrictions

He said the restrictions and obstructions on movement through the corridor hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community across the world and deprived the Guru Nanak Nam Lewa Sangat of darshan. The proposal appeals to the Central Government to further simplify the procedures for the Sangat, especially the elderly, so that more and more Sangat can visit this holy place.

sacred bridge of faith

During this, Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains said, "Sri Kartarpur Sahib is the origin of the principles of 'Kirat Karo, Naam Japo Te Vand Chhako'. This corridor is not just a path, but a bridge that connects the Sikh community back to the land where our Guru Sahib found his feet."
