Renault Duster Evolution Variant Reaches Dealers: Base Model with 1.3L Turbo-Petrol Engine (Video)
Renault has launched the Duster, and official deliveries for the SUV have also started. The Duster is available in Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic variants. We all know about the higher variants of the Duster; however, people are often interested in knowing what the base variants of these vehicles have to offer. Here, we have a video that shows what the Evolution trim of the Duster, which costs Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), has to offer at this price.
The video has been shared by Bhaiyaji Gadi on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger calls this the base variant because it is only from the Evolution variant that you can actually get the powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. So, this is effectively the base variant of the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine.
In this video, the vlogger first talks about the exterior of the SUV. The Duster Evolution variant comes with the same gloss front grille with Duster branding, LED low beams with halogen high-beam headlamps, thick black cladding on the lower part of the bumper, and it even gets air curtains on the bumper.
This variant doesn’t get front parking sensors or ADAS. Moving to the side, we see black cladding around the wheel arches and the lower part of the body. The door handles are all body-coloured, and we also see the Duster badge on the front door.
The Evolution variant also offers electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, roof rails, and 17-inch gunmetal grey alloy wheels. At the rear, there are sleek-looking LED tail lamps with a connecting LED bar. There is a reverse parking camera and parking sensors at the rear. There is also an integrated roof spoiler, antenna, and rear windshield wiper.
The vlogger then steps inside the vehicle. He mentions that the SUV only comes with a regular flip key and doesn’t get a push start/stop button. There are fabric inserts on the door pads, and it also gets one-touch up and down power windows on all four doors.
The seats are finished in grey-coloured fabric upholstery, and it also gets rear AC vents and USB ports for rear passengers, along with roof-mounted LED cabin lights. The seats are 60:40 split, and it comes with the same boot capacity as the higher variants.
The SUV doesn’t offer a spare wheel, and only a puncture repair kit is provided. At the driver’s side, the Duster gets manual height adjustment, a 7-inch digital driver display, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Google services, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also misses out on features like seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and more. However, six airbags and other standard safety features are available even in this variant.
The Duster Evolution variant also gets hydraulic struts for the bonnet, and it is powered by the segment’s most powerful 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 163 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque. With all these features in place, the Evolution variant does look like a value-for-money option, and customers can also opt for the DCT variant at an additional cost.
