Famous Urdu poet Bashir Badr: Famous Urdu poet and ghazal writer Padmashree Dr. Bashir Badr has passed away in Bhopal at the age of 91. There is a wave of mourning in the literary world due to the demise of this poet of love and peace, known for his very simple and heart touching ghazals in modern Urdu poetry.

Bashir Badr was born on 15 February 1935 in Ayodhya, UP. He completed his higher education and PhD from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and also served as a Professor of Urdu there. Badr Saheb is known for writing ghazals in simple, romantic and highly effective colloquial language. He included many new and typical words in the Ghazal genre. Poet Bashir Badr’s poetry gave words to love, loneliness, waiting and deep wounds of life. His Ashars were not mere words, but emotions that remained alive in the hearts of generations.
Poet Javed Akhtar also paid tribute to him by tweeting.
Today our language Urdu has become a little more poor. Bashir Badr, a very happy poet, left the party forever. This poet and his poetry will always remain alive in our memories.
