Result of re-examination of NEET UG 2026 declared: 11.21 lakh candidates successful, students of Punjab and Haryana are toppers.

New Delhi, 16 July. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the result of NEET UG 2026 re-examination late Thursday evening. Actually, this year the exam was conducted again due to the leak of NEET UG 2026 paper.

About 20 lakh candidates from across the country and abroad had appeared in the Re-NEET examination. The examination was conducted at 5,440 examination centers located in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Of these, 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other allied medical courses.

The success rate of girl students was better than that of boys.

According to NTA, more than 58 percent of the candidates who have qualified are girl students. The success rate of girl students was also better than that of boys. 56.8 percent of the girl students who appeared in the examination were successful, while the success rate of boys was 55.1 percent. More than 93 per cent of the candidates appeared for NEET for the first time while 99 per cent of the toppers are between 17 and 19 years of age.

Aryan of Punjab and Panshul of Haryana topped

Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana jointly topped among the successful candidates. Both scored equal 715 marks out of 720. Across the country, 19 candidates scored more than 700 marks while 138 candidates scored more than 690 marks. While 1,492 candidates scored 650 or more, 10,160 candidates scored 600 or more and 90,780 candidates scored 500 or more.

Maximum 1.7 lakh candidates are successful from Uttar Pradesh

According to NTA, candidates from all 36 states and union territories have qualified. Maximum of more than 1.7 lakh candidates passed from Uttar Pradesh while 43 candidates from Lakshadweep passed the exam. State-wise toppers include Jigmet Yangchen Lamo of Ladakh (530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi of Andaman and Nicobar (606 marks) and Fahmida Anees of Lakshadweep (573 marks). A total of 17 state toppers scored 700 or more marks, while 26 state toppers scored more than 690 marks.

Examination conducted in 13 languages

It is noteworthy that NEET UG 2026 was conducted in 13 languages ​​– Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. NTA has clarified that its job is to conduct the examination, declare the result and release the All India Rank. All India quota counseling for MBBS and BDS will be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) while state quota counseling will be conducted by the respective state governments.

Candidates advised to beware of fraud

In this sequence, NTA has advised the candidates to beware of fake calls, messages and frauds in the name of getting seats. The agency has also said that it does not ask for money or personal information from any candidate.
