Roadmap prepared for UP developed with wealth, creation and vitality, target set to make UP the country’s largest economy by 2047

Lucknow, Read: On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a new development model based on ‘Earth Power, Creation Power and Life Power’ has been prepared to make the state a developed state by the year 2047. The government’s aim is that Uttar Pradesh not only becomes the country’s largest economy, but also presents a national model of inclusive and balanced development.

According to the state government, the economy of Uttar Pradesh is expanding rapidly. The GSDP of the state was Rs 16.83 lakh crore in the year 2020-21, which has increased to Rs 30.25 lakh crore in 2024-25. With an economy of about 356 billion dollars, UP has become one of the top economies of the country. The government believes that the state’s 24 crore population and 62.8 percent working youth population will become the biggest force for future economic progress.

Yogi government has made agriculture, MSME, manufacturing and service sector the main basis of development under Artha Shakti. Emphasis is being laid on promoting technology, value addition and agri-business in the agricultural sector. UP, a leader in food grains, sugarcane and milk production, is now working towards increasing the income of farmers by connecting agriculture with modern markets and processing.

Focus on industry’s Udaan campaign

Considering the MSME sector as the backbone of industrial development, a strategy has been made to provide finance, technology and markets to small and medium industries through the Udyog Ki Udaan campaign. Lakhs of youth have been linked to employment and self-employment through ODOP scheme, Nivesh Mitra portal and new industrial policies. The state is also rapidly moving towards digital economy. Administration and services are being made technology based through e-governance, digital payments, online services and expansion of IT sector. Besides, Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura and Prayagraj are being developed as global tourism centers by linking religious and cultural heritage with economic development.

Creative power and life force model are most important

Under the “Srijan Shakti” model, the focus has been on big projects like expressway, airport, defense corridor, data center and logistics park. Projects like Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and Ganga Expressway along with Noida International Airport and Defense Industrial Corridor are making UP a major center of investment and industrial activities. Under Jeevan Shakti, health, education, security and good governance have been given priority. The government is strengthening law and order along with connecting the youth with skill development and technical education. Emphasis is being laid on creating a favorable environment for investment.
