The leg-spinner Rohit Yadav has withdrawn from the U19 squad for the upcoming home series against Australia U19 due to age discrepancies. Meanwhile, Aryan Savsani and Tanmay Baloda have been named as his replacements.
He made one of his best performances in the recent tour of Sri Lanka, taking six wickets in a two-match four-day series.
Savsani will be replacing Rohit in the one-day squad, while Baloda has been named as a replacement in the multi-day squad.
The three One-Dayers will be played on September 18, 21 and 23, with the four-day fixtures scheduled for September 27-30. All the One Dayers and the first four-day game will be played at Rajkot while the second four-day game will be played at Ahmedabad.
Lakshaya Raichandani will be captaining the side for the One-Dayers, with Yashbaradhan named as the vice-captain. They will be swapping roles for the multi-day fixtures.
Raichandani has been selected on the back of outstanding performance in the tour of Sri Lanka, where he finished as the leading run-scorer in the two-match four-day series with 307 runs at an average of 153.50. He scored 207 runs in Galle before an unbeaten 100 in Colombo.
He has also played four first-class games scoring 223 runs with three half centuries. Several members of the current squad – Sagar Virk scoring 134 runs in the first-four day game, while Manal Chauchan and Kushagra Ojha made 150 and 111 respectively in the second game.
The One-dayers game will be featuring Aaryvair Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, the sons of former captain Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid respectively. Anvay was part of the India U19 squad that toured Sri Lanka in July and made 87 in the second one-day game.
