He is one of the best footballers of all time in the world. In addition to his playing skills, he is known among his fans for his regular lifestyle. Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo never compromises on his controlled diet. However, it cannot be said that he is not a food lover at all. In a recent interview, Ronaldo said that the popular dish of his native Portugal, ‘Bacalho a brasa’, is one of his favorite dishes.
Although this dish is not Indian, the ingredients are so simple that it can be made divinely even in Bengali kitchens. However, although the recipe calls for salted cod fish, it is not very easy to find in India. Pomfret or barramundi fish can be used instead.
Ingredients
Salted cod/ pomfret/ barramundi
Lemon
Potatoes (200 g)
Eggs (6)
Onions (2)
Garlic (3-4 cloves)
Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
Black olives (10-12)
Parsley or coriander
Corn pepper
Method
Cut the potatoes into small but long slices. It can be said that each piece of potato looks like a matchstick. Fry them until crispy and set aside.
Soak the dried cod for a while, remove the skin. Remove the bones and spines, and cut into large pieces.
Pomfret or barramundi fish is not as dry as cod. Therefore, before using it in the main dish, it must be prepared. Rub salt and lemon juice well on the fish fillet. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and fry the fish fillets in it. After removing it, when it cools down, if there are any large and small bones in the middle, press them with your hands. Break the fish into large pieces.
Add three more tablespoons of oil to the oil used for frying the fish in the pot. Finely chop the onion and garlic and add them. Stir gently. First fry the potatoes, then add the fish pieces. When the mixture becomes smooth, pour in all the beaten eggs. Add salt and pepper as needed. When it is done, sprinkle black olive slices and parsley or coriander leaves on top.
Although this taste is a bit different for Bengalis, if you follow the correct rules, it will be delicious. This is the favorite food of your favorite star, which can be made at home during this current football season.
