Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Updated: There is good news for Royal Enfield fans. The company has made some significant changes to its famous Continental GT 650. A few new features have been added to make the bike easier to use on a daily basis while retaining the original cafe racer look. So the new model combines modern features with the old style.
The Continental GT 650 is a special bike in the 650 cc family of Royal Enfield. This bike is quite a craze among young riders due to its retro design and powerful engine. Now the company has retained the same identity and given the bike a bit more modern touch.
What changed in the new model?
The new Continental GT 650 features a black colored instrument cowl. So the front part of the bike looks more sporty. Along with this, new LED indicators have been provided. This can help improve visibility at night as well as in low light.
Another useful feature for riders is the USB Type-C charging port. This facility will be useful to reduce the worry of running out of mobile battery during long journeys. Riders who use their phones for navigation or calls can especially benefit from this.
The Rocker Red color variant has also been tweaked. This model is now given a black finish engine and exhaust. It also gets cast alloy wheels. This makes the overall look of the bike more aggressive than before.
Choice of four colors
The new Continental GT 650 is available in different styles. The Rocker Red and British Racing Green variants are priced around Rs 3.58 lakh ex-showroom. The Apex Gray is priced at around Rs 3.80 lakh and the MR Clean variant is priced at around Rs 3.87 lakh.
Some of these models feature a black-out theme, while others feature spoke wheels with a polished metal finish. So customers get an option to choose the style of the bike as per their preference.
No change in engine
No major changes have been made in the engine of the bike. It has the same 648cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine as before. This engine produces 47 horsepower and 52.3 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

This means that in the new model, the company has focused more on improving the user experience than increasing the speed. The already strong performing engine has been upgraded without any changes.
What will the ride experience be like?
The Continental GT 650 uses a steel tubular double-cradle frame. It gets telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin shock absorbers at the rear. So the sporty nature of the bike remains.
This bike of Royal Enfield is preferred for daily use in the city as well as for long rides. Its classic look and twin-cylinder engine are the major attractions of this bike.
