Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup 2026 Registrations Open: New Pro Class Gets GT-R 750cc Race Vike
Royal Enfield has opened registrations for the 2026 edition of the Continental GT Cup, and this year’s championship comes with a significant hardware upgrade. For the first time, all competing riders will race on the new GT-R750, a purpose-built race motorcycle based on the Continental GT 650’s 648cc parallel-twin platform but tuned and set up specifically for circuit use.
Originally, the GT Cup ran on the Continental GT 535 derived race bike. Moving to the 650-based platform added torque, improved power delivery, and also made for a faster, more demanding grid. The Continental GT Cup 2026 will be held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.
Registrations are open until June 1, 2026, at royalenfield.com. The entry process runs in two stages. First, zonal selection rounds will take place in Guwahati, Delhi NCR, Pune, and Bengaluru. These are open-track sessions where registered riders are assessed and shortlisted. Eight finalists from each zone advance to the final selection round at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, scheduled from June 18 to 21. From that pool, the final grid is confirmed for the championship rounds.

The GT Cup runs an Amateur and a Professional category in parallel. The Amateur category is open to any rider holding a valid two-wheeler driving licence and with no prior racing championship experience, which keeps the entry point genuinely accessible. The Professional category is restricted to riders holding a valid FMSCI licence, the federation that governs motorsport in this country.
This dual-category format is the structural reason the GT Cup has generated a real pipeline of racing talent over its five editions. Amateur riders who perform well in the championship have gone on to compete in other FMSCI-sanctioned series. The GT Cup functions as a legitimate entry point into professional motorcycle racing, not just a brand activation.
The 2026 championship will feature three race rounds at Kari Motor Speedway across August, September, and November. Round 1 is scheduled for August 22 to 24, Round 2 for September 26 to 28, and Round 3 for November 21 to 23, with all dates tentative pending final confirmation by the JK Tyre National Racing Championship organisers. All rounds are held as part of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship, which gives GT Cup races official FMSCI sanctioning and means results are recorded in the national motorsport calendar.
Kari Motor Speedway is a 2.1 km circuit with tight corners and short straights, which rewards rider technique over outright horsepower. On the new GT-R750, where the grid is spec-identical with no engineering modifications permitted, racing chops and consistency will determine who wins rounds.
For any enthusiast who has wondered what club-level racing actually involves, the zonal selection rounds are the most accessible starting point available in organised motorcycle racing here. A two-wheeler licence, your own riding gear, and the registration form is all it takes to find out.
