To further strengthen the adventure bike segment in the Indian two-wheeler market, Royal Enfield is preparing to launch its new motorcycle, the Himalayan 440. According to media reports, the company is expected to launch this new adventure bike in September 2026. This new model will expand the company’s existing adventure portfolio.
LS440 Engine and Mechanically Simple Design
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is expected to be built on the Scram 440 platform. It is expected to be powered by a 443cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder LS440 engine. This motor produces a maximum power of 25.4 bhp and a peak torque of 34 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox for power transmission.
In terms of design and build, this bike will be a rugged and mechanically simple adventure bike. Instead of highly complex electronics, it is being designed to be durable and easily maintainable in both on-road and off-road conditions.
