The dream of getting a government job for the youth of the country is once again going to come true. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over appointment letters to more than 51 thousand newly appointed youth in various government organizations across the country through the 20th employment fair today i.e. on 19 September 2026. The Prime Minister will join this special program at 12:30 pm through video conferencing and will give his guidance and also address these newly appointed youth from across the country. According to the information, this grand employment fair is being organized simultaneously at a total of 45 different places across the country.
Appointments will be made in these big ministries and departments of the Central Government
All the candidates selected under this 20th Employment Fair will start their new services in various important ministries and departments of the Central Government. These major departments include Revenue Department, Railway Ministry, Home Ministry, Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Financial Services Department and Defense Ministry and many other departments. In these programs to be organized at different places in the country, their appointment letters will be officially handed over to all the newly appointed candidates at the local level also.
Data reached 12.75 lakh youth and mission mode recruitment started
According to the information given by the government, after the completion of this 20th employment fair, the total number of youth getting appointment letters through employment fairs in various government departments and organizations will increase to about 12.75 lakh. Earlier in July 2026, the government had shared this information in the Parliament that a total of 19 employment fairs have been organized under the Mission Mode Recruitment Initiative, in which appointment letters have been distributed to more than 12 lakh youth. Let us tell you that the Central Government had started this National Employment Fair on 22 October 2022 under Mission Mode Recruitment, the main objective of which is to speed up the recruitment process in government departments.
The workforce will be strengthened in all these sectors including railways, health and education.
Apart from the Central Government Ministries, recruitment is also being done on a large scale in Central Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Institutions, Health and Educational Institutions and Public Sector Banks. Earlier, during the 19th employment fair organized on 23 May 2026, PM Modi had distributed appointment letters to more than 51 thousand youth. The main thrust of the government is to directly connect the youth of the country with government services and make them an important partner in the country's development journey. With these new appointments, the workforce of important sectors like administration, railways, health, finance and defense will be further strengthened.
