RR vs DC: Starc-Rahul Shine as Delhi Capitals Script Stunning Comeback Win

In IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals registered their fourth win, keeping their playoff hopes alive. After losing 3 consecutive matches, Delhi, captained by Akshar Patel, defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in its 9th match. In this match played in Jaipur, Delhi won by achieving the big target of 226 runs. The explosive opening of star fast bowler Mitchell Starc and Pathum Nissanka-KL Rahul played a vital role in this victory of the Capitals. Rajasthan had to face its fourth defeat in the season.

Rajasthan Royals batted first in this match and Yashasvi Jaiswal bowled the first ball of the innings. Mitchell Starc Also hit a six against. But Jaiswal (6) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (4) were out till the second over. After this, captain Ryan Parag led the team by making a strong partnership of 102 runs with Dhruv Jurel (42) and scored his first half-century in the season.

However, Riyan Parag came close to his first IPL century and was out on 90 runs. Starc also took his wicket. After this, Donovan Ferreira scored unbeaten 47 runs in just 14 balls and took the team to a strong score of 225 runs. For Delhi, Starc took the maximum of 3 wickets for 40 runs. This was his first match this season.

On the other hand, for the first time this season, there was an explosive opening partnership for Delhi. Pathum Nissanka (62), who was out for some matches, scored a half-century in just 23 balls as soon as he returned to the team. Nissanka along with in-form Rahul added 110 runs in 9.3 overs. Rahul (75) also scored a half-century in 27 balls and along with Nitish Rana (33) took the team to 171 runs.

Here both the batsmen were out till the score of 177. But after this, Tristan Stubbs (18 not out) and Ashutosh Sharma (25 not out) together made a half-century partnership and took the team to a big victory. Delhi achieved this target in 19.1 overs and executed its biggest successful run chase in IPL history. This is Delhi’s fourth win this season, while Rajasthan’s fourth defeat.
