Indore: The three-day meeting of the All India Executive Board of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ended on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. After this, RSS chief Dattatreya Hosabale, while talking to journalists, expressed his opinion on many important issues. He said that the resolve to build Ram temple has been fulfilled.
There should be no politics regarding reservation and its benefits should reach the needy people. Apart from this he also supported the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.
Showed by building Ram temple, also gave answer on Kashi-Mathura
While talking to journalists in Indore, Dattatreya Hosabale was asked about Ram temple in Ayodhya and other religious places. On this he said that the Sangh has fulfilled the resolution it had taken to build the Ram temple. He said that we had to build a Ram temple and we did it. After this, he was also asked questions on matters related to Bhojshala of Kashi, Mathura and Dhar.
Hosabale replied that some of these cases are pending in the court. The judicial process must be respected in such cases. He said that it is not necessary to turn every religious issue into a movement. According to him, the cases in which the hearing is going on should be left to the decision of the court. Society and related religious organizations will have to decide their role on other issues.
The benefits of reservation should reach the needy people.
On the question asked about reservation, Hosabale said that it is a sensitive social issue. It should not be linked to political gains or vote bank politics. He said that the purpose of reservation is to give an opportunity to those sections of the society who have been socially and educationally backward for a long time.
According to Hosabale, the system of reservation should continue until real equality is achieved in the society. It is important that its benefits reach all those eligible people who need it. He also said that if there is a need for change or improvement in the rules related to reservation, then the opinion of the concerned sections should be given importance.
He said that instead of making the system created for social justice a subject of political controversy, it is important to focus on its real objective.
Supported SIR, said – it is necessary to correct the voter list
Dattatreya Hosabale supported the Special Intensive Review (SIR) being run by the Election Commission. He said that in any democratic system it is very important for the voter list to be accurate and updated. Many times it happens that a person has died, but his name remains registered in the voter list.
Similarly, names of some people are present in more than one constituency. Many people leave their old place of residence and settle in another city or village, but their names are not removed from the old voter list. Hosabale said that to remove such mistakes, it is necessary to check the voter list from time to time.
He also described the possibility of names of non-citizens being in the voter list as a serious matter. However, the citizenship and voting eligibility of a person is decided only in accordance with the relevant law and prescribed procedure.
Former Election Commissioner TN Seshan was also mentioned
Speaking on SIR, Hosabale gave the example of the tenure of former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan. He said that the work of checking and correcting voter lists has been done in the country earlier also. In such a situation, the current process should not be seen only from a political perspective. Hosabale said that people whose names should not be in the voter list should be removed as per the rules. It is also important that the name of any eligible citizen is not left out by mistake.
He appealed to the opposition parties to understand the purpose and facts of the process before opposing it. It is noteworthy that regarding SIR, some opposition parties have expressed apprehension that the names of eligible voters will be removed. In such a situation, along with checking the voter list, the facility to settle complaints and add names is also important.
Claim of increasing Sangh branches in Bengal
During the meeting, Hosabale also gave information about the organizational expansion of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He claimed that the number of Sangh branches in West Bengal has increased by about 150 times as compared to earlier. According to him, the activities of the organization have expanded in the state. He informed that at present 99,423 daily branches of the Sangh are running across the country. The work of the Sangh has reached more than one lakh places.
Apart from this, the increasing problem of drug addiction among the youth was also discussed. Hosabale said that the association is planning to run programs related to awareness and counseling against drug addiction in collaboration with social organizations.
