Uttar Pradesh: A very shocking case has come to light from Bijnor, UP, where a woman has made serious allegations against her husband and in-laws regarding the girl child born through IVF. The woman claims that her in-laws are calling the IVF process against Shariat and are threatening to kill the newborn girl. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case against six people and started investigation.

The incident took place in village Hussainabad alias Daulatabad of Kotwali Dehat area of ​​Bijnor. In the complaint given to the police, the victim Gulshan told that she was married to Furkan son of Mohammad Ismail, resident of Dahirpur village of Nangal police station area about 12 years ago. The woman alleges that ever since her marriage, she was harassed for dowry and beaten on daily basis.

How did the controversy start?

According to Gulshan, due to not having a child for a long time, she conceived through IVF technique in a hospital in Ghaziabad with the consent of her husband. The woman says that as soon as other family members came to know about this, they started protesting against it. It is alleged that brother-in-law Imran, sister-in-law Shamima and sister-in-law’s father Shamim objected to the birth of the child, calling the IVF process against Shariat and Islam.

Pressure to terminate the unborn child

The woman said in her complaint that the in-laws were afraid that after the birth of the child, there could be a dispute regarding share in the property. For this reason, pressure was put on her to terminate the child in her womb. According to Gulshan, on April 4, her husband, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law and others reached her maternal village Daulatabad. There she was beaten up and threatened that the child born through IVF would not be allowed to survive.

Threats are being received even after the birth of the girl child

The victim told that on April 20, she gave birth to a baby girl. However, even after the birth of the girl, the series of threats did not stop. The woman alleges that the accused are still talking about harming her newborn daughter, due to which the family is in panic.

Case registered against six people including husband

Taking the matter seriously, on the instructions of SP Abhishek Jha, the police have registered a case against husband Furkan, brother-in-law Imran, sister-in-law Shamima, father-in-law Ismail, Hanisha and Shamim under dowry harassment, assault, threats and other serious sections. Police officials say that the entire matter is being investigated and further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
