Ruckus over strong room in Bhawanipur! TMC said- vehicles with BJP flag got entry
Tezzbuzz Desk – There is less than 24 hours left for the counting of votes to begin in West Bengal, but even before that the political atmosphere has heated up. This time the controversy has come to light from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s assembly seat Bhawanipur, where there was a huge uproar outside the strong room.
It is alleged that vehicles with BJP flag were allowed to enter the strong room premises located at Sakhawat Memorial Girls School. After this incident, there was huge anger among TMC workers and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself reached the spot. It is being told that she sat on dharna for about four hours and raised questions on the entry of people without permission.
TMC workers say that strict monitoring was already being maintained regarding the security of the strong room. In such a situation, allowing any suspicious vehicle to enter is a serious matter.
Speaking to news agency PTI, a TMC worker said, “The police were doing their job properly. Even the cycles were being checked. Then a vehicle entered. We saw that the army jeep had a BJP flag on it. It was allowed to proceed without checking, to which we immediately objected.”
Another worker claimed that it was a white colored vehicle with the BJP logo on the front and ‘Army’ written on the back. He raised the question as to how any vehicle can be allowed to enter without checking.
The Election Commission has given its clarification on this entire matter. A senior official of the Commission said that the vehicle concerned was passing through Harish Mukherjee Road. After investigation by security forces and police, no objectionable material was found in it, after which it was allowed to go ahead.
However, despite this clarification, the anger of TMC workers did not subside. Similar movements and protests are being seen outside the strong room in many other areas of the state.
Counting of votes will start in West Bengal from 8 am on Monday, May 4. Except Falta assembly seat, votes will be counted on 293 seats in the state. Along with this, results of other electoral states will also be revealed.
