Now Russia has made a similar agreement with another country. That country is Afghanistan. Russia officially recognized the Taliban rule in Afghanistan last year. Now Russia has signed a military cooperation agreement with the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Politico has reported this. This agreement was signed on Wednesday between Afghan Defense Minister Mohammad Yacob and Russian Defense Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. The exact nature of this military agreement is not clear yet. But Mohammad Yakub has said that this is an expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Afghan Defense Minister Mohammad Yacob said, “Dialogue with Russia is important for us. Afghanistan and Russia have long had historical relations. Now we want to move forward in developing those relations.” The Soviet Union, led by Russia, attacked Afghanistan in 1979. Soviet forces fought against the mujahideen in Afghanistan for almost a decade. Later, the Taliban emerged from there. The feeling of hostility continued even after the departure of the Soviet army. Later, when America entered Afghanistan and started the war, Russia was accused of secretly helping the Taliban.

Huge tension in the relations between the two countries

According to the changing situation and the needs of international politics, Russia and Taliban are now coming closer again. Even though the US has left Afghanistan, they are still against the Taliban regime. The military cooperation agreement between Russia and Taliban has increased the headache of Pakistan. Because recently, there has been an arms battle between Taliban and Pakistani army on the Durand Line border. Soldiers from both sides were killed in this. Pakistan carried out air strikes on civilian settlements in Afghanistan. In response, Afghanistan targeted Pakistani military targets. Although this fighting has stopped for now, there is huge tension in the relations between the two countries.

India benefits without doing anything
