‘This attack is justified.…’ After burning Moscow’s refinery, Zelensky’s open challenge to Russia, shakes Putin’s stronghold
Ukraine Russia Oil Refinery Strike: The fierce military conflict that has been going on between Russia and Ukraine for more than four years has taken a very dangerous turn on Thursday. Ukraine has carried out the biggest drone attack ever on Russia’s capital city Moscow. According to the report, in view of the impact of this attack, Russia has completely suspended flight operations at all major airports in Moscow.
Drones in the sky of Moscow
Russia’s civil aviation body ‘Rosaviatsya’ Has confirmed this emergency situation. According to the organization, this temporary restriction has been imposed to ensure the safety of the airspace and prevent any possible accident. Russian defense officials claim that their air defense systems have shot down about 180 Ukrainian drones within range of Moscow. However, such a large number of drones reaching the capital raises serious questions on Russia’s security system.
The attack on the refinery was ‘justified’
Immediately after this mega-attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an official statement and took responsibility for it. Zelensky said that this attack was not a normal military action, but for the second time in the same week, a major oil refinery in Moscow has been specifically targeted. Videos and pictures circulated on social media, showing plumes of black smoke rising from the refinery, made clear the magnitude of the attack.
Last night, our long-range sanctions once again reached the Moscow region – for the second time this week, the Moscow oil refinery was hit. Targets were also struck in the Rostov region and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This is a fully justified response to… pic.twitter.com/NhFl4FlT9L

Zelensky said in his Telegram message that the action was a ‘absolutely justified’ continuation of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and innocent civilians. And the answer is tough. He clarified that the aim of the Ukrainian army is to break the back of the Russian military machinery which is continuously fueling this war.
Damage to energy infrastructure and supply chain
In this new phase of the war, both sides are now working on a strategy to destroy each other’s energy and industrial infrastructure. Experts believe that the main objective of attacks on oil refineries, power plants and major energy centers is to disrupt the logistics and supply chain of the opposing country.
These increasing attacks by Ukraine are a clear indication that the Russia-Ukraine war does not seem to be stopping at the moment and it is likely to become more aggressive in the coming days.
Devastation in other areas of Russia also
The Ukrainian President also revealed that his troops were not limited to Moscow only. They have also successfully targeted several Russian military bases in Russia’s Rostov province and parts of Ukraine that are under illegal occupation by Russia. After these all-round attacks, high alert has now been declared across Russia.
