Russian Drone Factory CEO Vladimir Tkachuk Injured In A Car Explosion Attack: Vladimir Tkachuk, CEO of Uraldronezavod, a company that manufactures deadly ‘Upir’ FPV drones for the Russian army, was attacked on Wednesday. A powerful explosion took place in the ammunition planted under his high-speed Mercedes car in Bolshoy Istok near Yekaterinburg. His car driver died on the spot in this horrific and painful attack.
Tkachuk, the CEO of the drone factory, was seriously injured in the explosion that struck his Mercedes car on the road. Doctors immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. The Russian authorities have not yet officially confirmed who was behind this deadly attack.
Russian drone factory directly targeted
Russia’s Uraldronezavod drone factory is considered extremely important to the Russian military. It manufactures the deadly “Upir” drone, which is being used extensively in warfare to take down armored military vehicles. These drones have significantly strengthened Russian military offensives in the Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, Russia’s military also launched massive ballistic missile and deadly drone attacks on civilian areas in and around Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, on Wednesday night. At least 17 civilians were killed in the brutal Russian bombardment, while at least 44 others were seriously injured and admitted to local hospitals.
Russian bombing of civilian areas
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that the targets included a brewery and a mail sorting office. According to Zelenskyy, these locations had no connection to the war. However, the Russian Defense Ministry claims that all of these locations were directly or indirectly linked to the Ukrainian military.
Russia is currently carrying out frequent ballistic missile attacks to exploit Ukraine’s severe shortage of Patriot missile interceptors, an air defense system. Zelensky has appealed to Western countries for immediate shipments of more ammunition. Currently, the fierce war between Russia and Ukraine is causing significant destruction on both sides.
Security agencies on alert
Following the deadly attack on Tkachuk, Russian security agencies are on high alert and an investigation has been launched. However, Ukraine has not yet issued a statement on the attack. This incident clearly indicates that the ongoing conflict between the two countries has reached a critical stage.
