Actor Kamal Haasan shared his sorrow, noting that her songs will “forever keep resounding.” Veteran actor Chiranjeevi recalled how her voice gave life to many of his career-defining songs, calling her contribution “immortal.”
Born in 1938, Janaki’s career spanned over five decades, with more than 48,000 songs recorded in 17 languages. Her collaborations with legends like Ilaiyaraaja and SP Balasubrahmanyam remain etched in the collective memory of music lovers.
