Saudi Arabia Passport Rule: New rule of Saudi Arabia, if you report loss of passport, it will be canceled forever, now old passport will not work.

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (الجواست) has issued an important warning. If your passport is lost and you have reported it, that passport will be canceled forever. Now even if you get that passport later, you will not be able to use it.

According to this rule, people who have complained about losing their passport will have to get a new passport made. For this you will first have to take an appointment and then go to the passport office and submit the necessary documents.

This information is very important for expatriates and Indian workers living in Saudi Arabia. If a foreign resident does not report the loss of his passport within 24 hours, he may have to pay a fine of 1,000 to 3,000 Saudi Riyals.

Complaint about lost passport can now be lodged online through Absher platform. This allows the validity of the passport to be stopped immediately and the documents remain safe.

The Passport Department had also advised people to keep their documents safe in June 2026. He had said that the passport should be protected from theft, loss or negligence and keep it in a safe place.

In May 2026, Saudi footballer Saud Abdulhamid’s passport was stolen in Amsterdam. Because of this, he was not able to attend the training camp of his national team and the Saudi Embassy had to prepare new travel documents for him.
