Matt Renshaw keeps Australia struggling against South Africa
Australia's innings was on the verge of collapse after losing six wickets for 124 runs on the first day. However, Renshaw stood firm and formed a crucial partnership with captain Cummins, helping Australia bounce back at 187/6 before the end of play. Renshaw continued his resistance on the second day, reaching his second Test century and remaining unbeaten on 126 from 260 balls.
Cummins also contributed 43 runs as Australia reached 299/8 after Mulder's dismissal. Mulder led the South African attack with four wickets, while Marco Jansen And Anrich Nortje Took two wickets each. Nathan Lyon With Renshaw at the crease, Australia relied on the rest of their batsmen to further increase the total.
