‘Salaam-E-Ishq 2’ in works? Akshay Kumar may join cast
Released in 2007, Salaam-E-Ishq was directed by Nikkhil Advani and was loosely inspired by Love Actually.
The film followed the lives of six different couples and touched on love, heartbreak, marriage, cheating, and complicated relationships.
It featured a huge cast including Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Govinda, Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, Akshaye Khanna, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Ayesha Takia, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar among others.
Now, nearly two decades later, reports suggest that a sequel to the romantic drama is being planned.

As per Variety India, Nikkhil Advani is reportedly working on a follow-up film and wants to turn Salaam-E-Ishq into a proper franchise.
The report also claims that Akshay is being looked at for one of the main roles in the upcoming project.
Reports further state that the new film may focus on three connected couples whose stories come together through love and fate.
The 58-year-old and his reportedly not-yet-finalised co-star are expected to lead one storyline, while the other two tracks may revolve around younger couples dealing with modern relationships and romance.
The sequel is also said to explore topics like commitment fears, social pressure, heartbreak, marriage troubles, and emotional struggles while showing a more current take on relationships in today’s India.
However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers yet, and an announcement regarding the sequel and Akshay’s involvement is still awaited.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Bhooth Bangladirected by Priyadarshan. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Asrani and Paresh Rawal.
