Salman Khan has addressed questions surrounding the placement of his playful track ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ in his upcoming patriotic drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.
During the film’s trailer launch in Mumbai, the actor explained how the song fits into the story, revealing that it appears in a sequence where soldiers praise their wives.
Salman, who stars alongside Chitrangda Singh, said audiences would understand the context only after watching the complete film. Referring to his character as a soldier, he explained that the track plays when the jawans talk about and compliment their wives.
The actor also pointed out that the film’s promotional campaign had already featured several songs, but their actual situations within the narrative had deliberately been kept under wraps.
Salman Khan jokes about songs being released before films
Known for his humour, Salman also joked about the trend of releasing entire songs before a film reaches theatres. He said audiences sometimes recognise a track after watching its music video online and use the screening as an opportunity to take a break when the song appears.
He added that the makers wanted viewers to remain engaged rather than feel they had already watched every musical sequence before entering the cinema.
Maatrubhumi brings Salman and Chitrangda together
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi features Salman as an Army officer, while Chitrangda plays his wife. The film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
Produced by Salman Khan Films, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on December 4, 2026.
