Bollywood superstar Salman Khan attended the screening of Veer Pahariya’s film Prem Keetanu. Apart from Salman, Veer’s family members and the cast of the film were also present. Shikhar Pahariya, as well as their grandfather Sushil Kumar Shinde, also attended the screening.

Several videos and posts from the event have gone viral. One image shows Salman asking the paparazzi to take pictures of the celebrities posing on the red carpet. It so happened that an actor was posing on the red carpet while Salman was waiting for his turn. When Salman arrived, he waited and was seen standing below the red-carpet stage as the paparazzi panned their cameras towards him, leaving the actor posing on the red carpet alone.

Salman then told the paparazzi to focus on the celebrities on the red carpet and not capture him.

Another clip shows Salman’s security team intervening when a fan ran towards him to click a selfie. The video shows Salman and Anup Soni greeting each other and engrossed in conversation when a young fan suddenly rushed towards Salman outside the venue and grabbed his hand despite the presence of security.

The fan appeared excited and was likely hoping for a selfie with the star. Salman seemed surprised by the sudden move, following which his security team promptly intervened. The bouncers firmly pulled the fan away, after which Salman proceeded inside with Anup Soni.

Salman Khan and his security team were criticised by some social media users over the way the fan was handled.

One user commented, “Yes we have to maintain but the way you guys grab him is not good.” Another wrote, “But every fan deserves respect.” A third reaction read, “The pulling thing was not good.”

“This is not fair, Bhai,” another user commented, while someone else wrote, “That’s not how a fan should be treated.”

Others also questioned the security team’s approach, with one person writing, “Ye kya badtameezi hai koi actor hoga to aisa kroge?” Another summed up the sentiment, saying, “Fans are also human beings like celebrities.”

For the screening, Salman dressed casually in a light blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves, white trousers, dark sunglasses, a watch and his signature bracelet.

His attendance was a gesture of support for Veer Pahariya, his longtime friend Sajid Nadiadwala and the Prem Keetanu team. Inside, Salman met Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed and others associated with the film.

This was not Salman’s first uncomfortable encounter with an overly eager fan breaching security. In 2019, a female fan grabbed his arm during a special screening of Who are you? to take a selfie, prompting a similar security intervention.

More recently, in April 2026, a man at an airport put his arm around Salman while he was interacting with another fan. Security gently removed the man after Salman signalled them to stay calm.

Work front

Salman is also awaiting the release of Maatrubhumi, which stars him alongside Chitrangda Singh and is set to release in 2026.

Salman’s upcoming action film with producer Dil Raju has reportedly been titled Monster. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the pan-India project also stars Nayanthara and is targeting an Eid 2027 release.
