Indian actor Salman Khan’s much-awaited Maatrubhumi had not yet reached the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), as the film’s final cut was still being prepared, according to a report.
The film had originally been scheduled for release in April but was later postponed. Since then, reports about its release date and certification had continued to surface.
According to Variety Indiathe makers were still working on the final version and had not submitted it to the CBFC. A source told the publication that music composer Ravi Basrur was working on the film’s score at Octavia Studios while the team was completing the remaining changes.
“Ravi Basrur is currently working on the score at Octavia Studios and the makers are yet to arrive at the final cut,” the source said.
The source added that changes requested for the film were being incorporated and the final version had not yet been locked.
The report further stated that the Apoorva Lakhia directorial would be sent to the CBFC after the remaining changes were completed. The makers were also expected to decide on the release plan after the final cut was locked and the certification process had begun.
There had been speculation on social media that Maatrubhumi could arrive in cinemas around Diwali or Christmas. However, no official release date had been announced.
In the film, Salman Khan was set to play the role of an Indian Army officer. The project had remained among his upcoming films as fans waited for further updates on its release.
Salman Khan’s upcoming projects
Apart from MaatrubhumiSalman Khan had also been linked to a project directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film was reportedly titled Monster, although an official announcement had not been made.
Reports had also linked the actor to a superhero project from Raj and DK. Details about the project had not been officially confirmed.
For now, Maatrubhumi remained in post-production, with the final cut still awaiting completion before its submission to the CBFC.
