In Uttar Pradesh, Congress is continuously putting pressure on Samajwadi Party. It is discussed that this pressure is being created to take maximum seats from SP in the upcoming assembly elections of UP. Congress MP Imran Masood on Monday accused the Samajwadi Party of remaining silent on issues related to Muslims and said that if Akhilesh Yadav's party has to form an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, then it should do so honestly.
He asked whether Muslims are just a vote bank? Masood, MP from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, said, 'Samajwadi Party leaders keep attacking me continuously. What will you gain by targeting me? They should take on BJP instead.

SP leaders target me only – Masood
Imran Masood claimed, 'Mosques of Muslims are being demolished, madrassas are being demolished, injustice is being done to Muslims and Dalits are being tortured. We should also speak on these issues. But SP leaders will not do this. Instead they target me.

finalize the alliance
He said, 'SP people talk about alliance. If you really want to fight BJP, then finalize the alliance. Do this honestly. If you don't want to do anything on the ground, it means you are not honest.
He said, 'If the (opposition) government does not come, then we (Muslims) will have to disappear.' Imran Masood said that there is no sourness in relations with SP, but he is showing a mirror to it.
